Nashville at law: Rape victim faces lawsuit Nashville Post (subscription)
—In the eyes of the law, Loren Janosky is a rapist.
But his former employer, security service Brentwood Patrol, is now endorsing his claim that a 2002 sexual encounter with a Nashville woman was consensual. Seeking to recover a cash settlement it paid after Janosky pleaded guilty to raping her while on duty and received an 18-year prison sentence, the company has now sued the woman.
The lawsuit comes two months after the woman herself anonymously sued Brentwood Patrol . She said the company’s lawyer had sent her a letter demanding $1 million and enclosing a draft legal complaint that would make her identity a matter of public record. That package also included copies of several letters the woman has supposedly sent to Janosky in prison, admitting that she fabricated the rape story.
Complying with a court order obtained by the woman, Brentwood Patrol named the defendant only as Jane Doe in its lawsuit, which was filed under seal on May 17 in Davidson County Chancery Court.
